FPA – Fire Protection Association
The Fire Protection Association (FPA) is the UK’s national fire safety organisation and is one of 28 similar national bodies worldwide. We work to identify and draw attention to the dangers of fire and the means by which the potential for loss is kept to a minimum.
Since our formation in 1946 we have attained an unrivalled reputation for quality of work and expertise in all aspects of fire including research, consultancy, training, membership, publications, risk surveying and auditing.
IFE – Institute of Fire Engineers
The IFE is a registered charity working for societal benefit. Founded in 1918, the IFE assesses knowledge of fire and professional experience, awarding internationally recognised membership grades and fire-related qualifications. Through its Engineering Council licence as a Professional Engineering Institution (PEI), the IFE registers suitably qualified IFE members as Chartered Engineers (CEng), Incorporated Engineers (IEng) and Engineering Technicians (Eng Tech)
GGF – Glass and Glazing Federation
Being the industry authority, the GGF promotes best practice and sets the highest technical and health & safety standards. The Federation is also the voice of the industry in local and national politics helping shape and influence policy and legislation.
ASFP – Association for Specialist Fire Protection
The ASFP is dedicated to the protection of life, property, the environment, our heritage and promotes continuous improvement in all aspects of passive fire protection. Working with Government and international standard setting bodies,the ASFP endeavours to increase the quality of installed fire protection within all forms of construction.
IOSH – Institution of Occupational Safety and Health
IOSH are the principal health and safety membership organisation in the world, the only Chartered body for health and safety professionals and a world leader in health and safety training
At the end of 2021 TRADA (The Timber Research and Development Association) merged with the Timber Trade Federation to form the new organisation Timber Development UK – an international membership organisation dedicated to inspiring and informing best practice design, specification and use of wood in the built environment and related fields. We pride ourselves in providing independent, authoritative design and technical guidance to our members.
